Refund policy

Effective 16 October 2026.

This policy covers web access to the study app (for example, "PPL Prep - Web Access"), bought on aviationwrittenexam.com and paid through Stripe. It does not cover the apps on the App Store. Apple handles refunds for those.

The short version

Access starts immediately

Your access starts the moment you buy. By buying, you ask us to start it straight away. Your licence key is shown on the page you land on after paying. You can start studying at once.

Once a question has been shown to you, we cannot take it back. If anyone could see our whole question bank and then ask for their money back, that would not be fair to us or to other students. That is why this policy looks at how many questions have been shown to your key.

The refund rule

You get a full refund if both of these are true:

  1. You ask within 14 days of buying. Count from the date and time of purchase on your receipt.
  2. Fewer than 100 questions have been served to your key.

You do not need to give a reason.

If either one is not true, we do not refund, except in the cases under "When we refund anyway" below.

The rule gives one refund per person. If you have had a refund for web access before, a later purchase is refunded only in the cases under "When we refund anyway".

What "served" means

A question counts as served the first time our server shows it to your key. Each different question counts once.

We take the count from the log our server keeps for your key. If you are not sure whether you qualify, ask us.

How to ask

Email [email protected] and include the receipt number or the email address on your Stripe receipt, so that we can find your payment.

We check each request against this policy and answer as quickly as we can. We refund through Stripe, back to the card you paid with. Refunds usually show up within 5 to 10 business days, but your bank decides how long it takes.

If a payment's billing address is outside Canada and the United States, where web access is sold, we refund it in full automatically and no key is issued.

What happens to your key

When a payment is refunded in full, Stripe tells our server and your key is disabled at once. It stays disabled, even if you enter it again.

A partial refund, such as one for time lost to an outage, does not disable your key.

When we refund anyway

We will refund you, even outside the rule above, in these three cases.

  1. A purchase made by mistake. If you bought the wrong exam, or bought the same exam twice, email us within 14 days. We refund the purchase you did not mean to make, as long as fewer than 100 questions have been served to its key.
  2. The law requires it. Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under the consumer protection law that applies to you. If that law gives you a right to a refund, we will honour it.
  3. The service was unavailable. If the study app is down or unusable for more than 72 hours in a row because of a problem on our side, we will add the lost time to your access, or, if you prefer, refund you in proportion to the time you lost. That is a partial refund, so your key keeps working for the rest of your access. If we close the study app before your access period ends, we refund the unused part. A problem with your own device, browser or internet connection does not count. Please email us with the dates and what happened.

When we do not refund

Unless one of the cases in "When we refund anyway" applies, we do not refund:

Please contact us first

If something is wrong, email us before you dispute a payment with your bank or card company. Most problems can be fixed faster that way. If a payment is disputed or reversed, your key is disabled.
